School of Architecture, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, is nestled in a lush green campus integrated with other Engineering and Management courses spread over 50 acres in the city of Tumakuru.
State of Art facilities are provided congenial to Architectural education with spacious studios with model making spaces and lecture hall, all in one module, considering the need for spontaneity in the activities of students of Architecture. Supporting to the main studio activities are well equipped laboratories like Computer lab – systems with all softwares of BIM compliance, Climatology lab - space with equipments to record and analyzes climatic factors and design efficiency
Material Museum - space with miniature models of building elements, material samples, construction equipments and building materials Art lab- well equipped furniture and instruments to explore visual arts Model Corner-to work on large scale models with various materials and display of previous works Exhibition gallery – a permanent space to exhibit the best works of the students Construction Yard – an outdoor defined space to carry out hands on sessions on various construction techniques
Library – housing more than 5000 volumes of books apart from national and international journals and magazines. E- Library facility is also provided with access to most of the academic and research sites.
Material testing laboratory and survey lab integrated with Department of Civil Engineering Studios are equipped with drawing tables, movable display panels to provide flexibility and locker facilities for all the students. Students do have a resource centre and Activity room to involve in extracurricular activities. The campus offers free Wi Fi facilities all over. The faculty of School of Architecture are given individual cabins along with a lounge.
The campus has hostel facility for boys and girls hostels are located outside the campus hence provided with bus facility. The campus has facilities like Health Centre, Canteen, Reading room, Consumer society, to cater the staff and students. School of Architecture has a seminar hall of 150 capacity, media centre with 280 capacity and Birla Auditorium with around 800 capacity to host various events of different scale.
Even though the Siddaganga Institute of Technology was established in 1963, the Department of Architecture was added to the vast curricula of S.I.T. in 1992. The Department is housed in a separate building of its own with excellent infrastructural facilities and in the beautiful setting of the campus.
